About the wine
The wine-growing regions of the French winery Domaine Julien Pilon stretch across the landscapes of the Côtes du Rhône, where the experienced winemaker produces this red wine. Tasting note
This Syrah is in a bright purple. In the nose, it exudes aromas of blueberries, cherries, red plums, some pomegranate and spicy notes of pepper and licorice. On the palate, the wine is expressive and seductive with lots of red fruit, some black olives, supple tannins and a long-lasting, juicy and spicy finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with game, beef, roast pork, stews and grilled dishes.
Vinification
This Syrah comes from the very first plot that Julien managed himself. As the name suggests, it is located on the left bank of the Rhône, opposite Condrieu - i.e. from the other bank
The Syrah vines are rooted there on loamy soils, which are interspersed with rolling pebbles. All grapes are picked by hand and completely destemmed. After a mash fermentation, malolactic fermentation and a 10-month aging in used barriques take place.
