About the wine
The winemaker from the French winery Famille Brunier, Dom. Vieux Télégraphe greets us with this wine, which he grows in the countryside of the Côtes du Rhône. Christmas 2021 is just around the corner! Make the most of it with this dominant Shiraz 2018 — Télégramme Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC! Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Shiraz is excellent to serve with barbecue or game.
Tasting note
The Bruniers are top quality winemakers in the heart of the southern Rhône and have magnificent terroirs for Orange and Gigondas, above all on the fascinating pebble plateau La Crau in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. There is their legendary Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, whose name goes back to an old light telegraph that once stood in the vineyard. Daniel and Frédéric Brunier are great advocates of traditional, long aging in large barrels, so-called fuders, which adds great complexity to a pure range of flavors. The télégramme is the brother of the Vieux Télégraphe of 20 to 50-year-old vines of La Crau and La Roquète. With its wonderful, dominant Grenache fruit and supple structure, it is perfect for enjoyment within around five to 10 years.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team recommends this Télégramme Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC to accompany barbecue, game and roasted vegetables.
