Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Asinone 2019 - Poliziano

About the wine

Poliziano is one of the most renowned wine producers in Italy and the undisputed top producer in Montepulciano. In 1982 Federico Carletti took over the estate in Montepulciano from his father. In the eighties, together with his oenologist Carlo Ferrini, he optimised vinification, made enormous investments and made a name for himself in the first guard of Italy. Back then, around 22 hectares were planted with vines, today there are 130. Carletti tirelessly refines the quality of his wines, with considerable success. Le Stanze and Vino Nobile Asinone have long since achieved cult status and the Merlot in Violas is Carletti's youngest child. The name Poliziano goes back to the Renaissance poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494), who was born in Montepulciano and worked as a teacher and poet in Florence under the name “Il Poliziano”.

Tasting note
Culinary recommendation
A sophisticated wine for special occasions, best paired with tasty main courses (with veal and beef, but also with game) or with mature cheeses.
Vinification
