About the wine
The winemaker from the South African winery Olifantsberg grows this wine in the countryside. This powerful Chardonnay 2015 — Blanc is a hit right down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! Vinification
The grapes for Grenache Blanc and Rousanne come from slate/quartz soils, while Chenin Blanc grows on sandstone/slate soils. The vision was to produce a white assemblage that corresponds to a Rhone style. The grapes are all pressed separately as whole bundles and spontaneously fermented in 500 liter French oak barrels. This was followed by blending and the wine matured for 10 months on the lees with regular battonage in 10% new oak barrels.
