About the wine
The traditional Petrolo winery is located in the middle of Tuscany between Florence and Arezzo and is one of the very few that has consistently received top marks from all renowned Italian wine critics for years. The vines stand at an altitude of between 250 and 450 meters above sea level. The Galestro soils are typical of the Apennine region of Tuscany. Since the Middle Ages, the estate was owned by the famous Tuscan dynasty Galatrona, of whose buildings the ancient tower is still preserved today. Today, Petrolo is run by the fourth generation of the Bazzocchi-Sanjust family.
Tasting note
The C in the name of Boggina stands for the Classico, which has been aged for about 18 months in large wood and tonneau: In the bouquet, the whole abundance of Sangiovese - sour cherry, plum, various floral notes and spices. The filigree tannins lend elegance to the palate, accompanied by subtle nuances of mint and chocolate.
