About the wine
Since its foundation in 1992, Bordeaux- and Rhone-inspired wines have been produced at the DeLille Cellars boutique winery in Woodinville. The work in the vineyards as well as in the wine cellar is the responsibility of Chris Upchurch, winemaker and founding member of DeLille. It manages some of the oldest and most famous sites in the Washington State region, Ciel du Cheval, Harrison Hill and Grand Ciel.

Tasting note
Aromas of plums, cherries, black pepper and dried flowers. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and structured with ripe tannins. Great length with typical Red Mountain character.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Chaleur Estate Red Mountain goes perfectly with red meat, Gruyère burgers and pizza with mushrooms.
Vinification
The selected grapes are sorted manually after harvesting, cold macerated for 24 to 36 hours, followed by fermentation for two weeks. The wine then matures for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels. Finally, a minimum of eight months of bottle aging gives this artisanal wine the finishing touch.
