About the wine
The origins of Rioja Vega go back to 1882, when Don Felipe Ugalde established a bodega in Haro that bore his name. In 1948, a change took place. Through marriage, the Ugalde and Muerza families (another winegrowing family in the neighborhood) became related. Both bodegas combined forces to establish production in San Adrián under the name of Bodegas Muerza. It was a period of prosperity. The equipment was renewed and the distribution network improved. In 1983, the winery was acquired by the Príncipe de Viana group. Since then, sales have increased considerably, and the wines regularly shine at national and international awards.

Tasting note
Intense cherry red in the glass. Wonderfully animalistic nose with notes of leather, tobacco and earth. The nuances of ripe black berries, prunes and roasted aromas such as vanilla, caramel and butter nestle gently behind it. Full-bodied, fresh and soft, this blend captivates not only with noticeable, well-integrated tannins, but also with vital notes of black chocolate, spice and a minerality that lingers for a long time.
Culinary recommendation
Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Crianza Rioja DOCa goes well with pizza, barbecue and lasagna.
Vinification
The classic Rioja blend with Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes is aged for twelve months in American oak barrels. After bottling, there is a further maturation phase in the bottle for at least six months. A VEGAN vinified wine.
