About the wine
The Maison Champy was founded in 1720 and is therefore the oldest winery in Burgundy. Located in the heart of the historic town of Beaune, Maison Champy is internationally known for the outstanding quality of its Grand Crus of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. In order to preserve the vineyards and exceptional terroirs, the winery is converting to organic farming.
Tasting note
Intense ruby red. On the nose, aromas of plum, blackberry and vanilla. Fresh and supple on the palate, with opulent body and aromas of cherry, blackberry and light wood notes. Present acidity and round finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes wonderfully with meat dishes or mild cheeses.
Vinification
The wine matures for 7 months in a selection of around 80 different barriques, 10% of which are new wood.
