Fugu Vermentino di Gallura DOCG 2022 - Tenute Gregu di Raffaele Gregu

About the wine

For more than 90 years now, the Gregu family has been growing wine in the northeast of the island of Sardinia. In Gallura - the only DOCG area on the island - 30 hectares are cultivated between olive trees and cork oaks. The focus is on the local Vermentino and Cannonau varieties, which are now thought, lived, loved and vinified in the cellar by the enthusiastic Raffaele, following the Sardinian tradition, of course not without sacrificing modern technology. On the weathered granite soils in the Mediterranean climate, this creates wonderful, relaxed, creamy-fresh wines that, although barely audible in the loud crowds of the large growing regions, do not need any screaming due to their excellent quality.

Tasting note
The second of three weeks of vacation. Forget everything from the past, not yet thinking of what is to come, such an undisturbed, blissful peace, the bright fruit so creamy, a touch of vanilla, a few flowers, a few grasses, a few herbs. On the palate, such a wonderfully full-weightless harmony, the completely relaxed bright fruit lifted by a soft, fresh bite, fresh herbs such as mint, and a minerality as soft as the Mediterranean, including Mediterranean herbs. Exudes perfect satisfaction, no greed, no harshness, no will,. Should, must. Just be!
