About the wine
If you want to surprise a wine connoisseur, then with this powerful Pinot Noir 2012 — Heretat de Belda DO! The winemaker from the Spanish winery Daniel Belda has absolutely mastered his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the beautiful landscape in Levante. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Pinot Noir is excellent to serve with salmon or cheese.
Tasting note
The Heretat de Belda is Daniel Belda's flagship. It has a very dark cherry red color. On the nose, a wide range of aromas of black cherries, ripe plums, dark berries, oriental spices, cedar wood, coffee and a hint of forest soil inspire. The palate is extremely dense and robust with lots of dark fruit, sweet spices, ripe tannins and a long and velvety finish. An extremely voluminous red wine that is great fun from a young age but can also continue to mature in the cellar for a few more years.
Culinary recommendation
With Spanish specialities, hearty meat dishes, châteaubriand, game, lamb, beef, stews, etc.
Vinification
With this blend, Daniel wants to combine the power and intensity of Garnacha Tintorera with the Mediterranean freshness of Pinot Noir. The two grape varieties are harvested and fermented separately by hand in the optimal ripening stadium. The ageing takes place for 12 months in French barriques before the two wines are married and the Heretat then continues to mature in the bottle for at least 2 years. With the 2012 vintage, Daniel changed the blend from 50/50 to 85% Tintorera and 15% Pinot. Just under 7000 liters are produced.
