Integer Grillo DOC 2021 - Marco de Bartoli, Pantelleria

About the wine

Marco de Bartoli is a personality, a figure in Sicily, father of the Renaissance of Sicilian wines. With love and also a little anger and half his family, he has been standing up here since the 1980s against the big companies, the unfair machinations and, above all, the decline of Marsala, which has forgotten all tradition in recent decades turned into a cheap wine, not so with Marco! In his two wineries in Marsala and on the island of Pantelleria, only autochthonous vines are cultivated, organic of course (certified), and, after careful selection, formed into independent wines with a touching soul.

Tasting note
Yoga on the beach. What an inner peace, what freedom, and what gentle fresh energy strives upwards from the depths, the bright fruit that goes from orange to yellow, green, calm and yet with great confidence, carried by a herbal freshness, a gentle, chalky minerality, a whiff of salty sea air, algae, in harmony with itself and the world. On the palate, this inner balance and gentleness again, and this freedom, infinite breadth, everything here comes together to create a holistic harmony, very fine acidity and minerality, floating in detachment, very light, so long. A happy quest, breadth and affirmative freshness. There is nothing gnawing, no hesitation, so much confidence. A pure, radiant soul!
