The temptation is great to experiment with the “modern” grape varieties in Sicily. The still very young winery is managed by Tuscan Alessandro Cellai. It originated from the old structures of a Sicilian homestead near Salaparuta. In today's very modern vineyard and winery, Alessandro Cellai complements a wide range of predominantly local varieties with this wine, such as Nero d'Avola, Grillo and Frappato. In Merlot Syrah, the typical characteristics of both varieties complement each other, with Merlot contributing the soft melt with fruity notes and Syrah the peppery, racy spice.
