About the wine
The first thought is France? Then it's time to try this wine. This Nice is not located on the French coast, but in the hills of Monferrato. Barbera thrives here as well as nowhere else in Piedmont. Nice is the Champions League for Barbera. The Nizza from Castello di Perno comes from a vineyard with old vines from 1940. After a longer maceration, the wine matures for 14 months in Stockinger-Tonneaux and is given some time in the cement tank before bottling.
Now until 2028James Suckling: 91/100
Tasting note
On the nose, it has an incredibly dense blueberry fruit, everything is very concentrated. You almost fall into a glass when you smell it. The Nice masters the fine line between elegance and weight with prancing steps thanks to a very fine, straight acidity.
