Ornus dell'Ornellaia Toscana IGT 2020 - Tenuta dell'Ornellaia

About the wine

Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Tenuta dell'Ornellaia conjures up this white wine with refinement and experience. You will certainly enjoy the delicious Ornus dell'Ornellaia Toscana IGT, box, which was produced in 2010.

Tasting note
Ornus 2014 has an intense golden color with amber reflections. It has a complex aroma that smells of candied orange peel, dry apricots and caramel. In terms of taste, it impresses with its very balanced ratio of sugar content and fruity, fresh acidity with notes of apricot, sweet tobacco and slightly bitter caramel. A spicy, sweet and at the same time light wine.” - Axel Heinz
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with panna cotta, tiramisù or gorgonzola dolce.
Vinification
Each harvest run resulted in a vinification unit, which in turn was pressed and vinified separately. After extensive gentle pressing and natural clarification for one night, the various production units are grown in 100% new oak barriques at temperatures not exceeding 22°C. After the desired balance between sugar and alcohol content was achieved, fermentation was stopped. No malolactic fermentation was carried out. After refilling, the wines aged for 12 months, then the various batches were blended into a cuveé. Bottling was followed by one-year bottle aging before the wine was finally released for the market. “Ornus dell'Ornellaia comes from a passion for our terroir and the desire to harness its potential to produce great late harvest wines. The mild and well-ventilated climate, typical of autumn in Bolgheri, is ideal for this.
