About the wine
With the biting red wine 2008 — Sangiovese di Romagna Avi, you can offer your family and friends something very special. The winemaker from the Italian WINERY San Patrignano in the blooming and fertile landscape of Emilia-Romagna masters this red wine with sensitivity and intuition. Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Sangiovese can be served very well with pizza or beef.

Tasting note
Avi is reluctant at first; it needs air and is therefore best carafed a good half hour before serving. Its spicy scent is characterized by herbal notes such as laurel, thyme, tarragon, tobacco and undergrowth. Quite the opposite on the palate: The aromas of black cherries and wild berries are intense and long, accompanied by fine yet noticeable tannins. An elegant wine, complex and long in the aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team is recommended for pasta, pizza and lamb. Our recommendation: Enjoy this red wine at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 4-20 years after harvest.
Vinification
Information on vinification: Depending on the vintage, the best grape plots are selected for this Riserva. The grapes harvested by hand are strictly selected. Fermentation takes place in large boats of 33 hl capacity and the maceration lasts about 20 days. For its refinement, the young wine is aged for about 18 months in Tonneaux. Bottling takes place without filtration and the wine rests in the bottle for another 18 months before being released to the market.
