About the wine
If you're looking for something special, then don't miss out on this provocative white wine 2016 — Sauvignon Blanc QW Weinviertel. To get a feel for the mountainous and hilly landscape beauty of Lower Austria, there is no way around this white wine, which the Austrian winery Gruber Röschitz masters with a keen sense of texture. Culinary tip from Flaschenpost team: This Sauvignon Blanc is ideal to serve with mussels or fish.
Tasting note
This Sauvignon Blanc delights with its cool and fruity aroma. Fragrant aromas of currant, gooseberry, slightly grassy notes and some elderberry flow into the nose. On the palate, plenty of fruit, supported by a juicy acidity and a vibrant mineral finish. A perfectly balanced Sauvignon Blanc that is intended for youthful enjoyment.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with aperitif, asparagus, goat cheese, poultry dishes or light fish dishes.
Vinification
The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc grow on loess soils, some of which lie on prehistoric soil around the village of Röschitz. The handpicking takes place in two rounds in the first half of October. After cooling fermentation in stainless steel, the wine ages in stainless steel tanks for a few months.
