About the wine
A special feature of Terlan is the small parceling of the vineyards, which enables particularly targeted care. The very high proportion of steep slopes results in more manual work, but is also the basis for the winery's great location potential. The focus is on cultivating as many old, vital vineyards as possible so that the vineyard potential can also be expressed in the best possible way in the wines. The deliberate absence of herbicides and soil preparation adapted to the location are just two of the key elements of near-natural management.
Tasting note
Intensely bright straw yellow with green reflections in the glass. Very fruity on the nose, the scent of apricots, tangerines and passion fruit, complemented by elderflower, gooseberry and mint. On the palate, the fruity impression continues, paired with a fine acidity. The good structure and the mineral yet aromatic finish are particularly convincing.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with asparagus dishes, Asian dishes, sea fish, crustaceans, vegetables, fish
Vinification
Harvesting and grape selection by hand, gentle pressing and clarification of the must through natural sedimentation of the trub substances. Slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Ageing for seven to eight months on fine yeast, partly in steel tanks (80%), partly in large wooden barrels (20%).
