About the wine
Sunny and picturesque landscapes in South Australia give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Australian winery Rusden conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. This strong red wine 2009 — Shiraz Black Guts Barossa is a triumph down to the last drop in the truest sense of the word! The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you offer this shiraz with game or roasted vegetables.
Tasting note
Rich, thick nose of stone fruit, violets, cloves, bacon and fine shades of pepper. Silky yet powerful on the palate. Well-integrated oak cask aromas round off the taste. Long and velvety smooth finish.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The ideal drinking temperature for the red wine is a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The following period is the ideal drinking phase for this wine: 4-15 years after the harvest. Flaschenpost team is recommended with roasted vegetables, barbecue and game.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: Hand picking, then the grapes are gently pressed with a basket press. Fermentation takes place in open fermentation vats, followed by ageing for 30 months in French (25% new) and American (10% new) barriques.
