About the wine
There is always something left over from Christmas dinner. Do you know that? Why not invite your friends to a glass of wine in the afternoon to enjoy the festive meal again and we recommend this strong Cabernet Sauvignon 2017. With experience and intuition, the winemaker from the South African winery Tanagra masters this red wine in the beautiful and sunny landscape of the Breede River Valley. The Flaschenpost team promises a dining experience when you serve this Cabernet Sauvignon with ribeye steak or red meat.
Tasting note
Tanagra Carah is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Black and red fruits on the nose, complemented by eucalyptus, vanilla and nuts. On the palate, dark berries and the peppery spiciness of Shiraz, which makes the wine appear very velvety and harmonious overall. McGregor is a single vineyard (ward) in the Robertson District, Breede River Valley region. All wines are grown on their own farm. The production is 300 boxes. Only the best berries from the best locations on the farm are processed under the label “Tanagra”. The berries are fermented without squeezing them. Fermentation takes place using wild yeast. The wines are neither filtered nor clarified. All wines have excellent storage potential.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at slightly chilled 16°-18°C. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: Tanagra Carah goes well with ribeye steak, gruyère burger and red meat.
