About the wine
Ghizzano di Peccioli, cross-country after driving from San Gimignano, seems to be at the end of the world. Instead, it is in the heart of a picture-book landscape! The village of Ghizzano itself is picturesque. It only consists of a few houses, in the middle of which rises the Castello di Ghizzano. It has been owned by the Venerosi Pesciolini family since 1370. Ginevra, the daughter, who today runs the estate with its 20 ha of olive groves, the extensive grain fields and the current 18 ha of vines, likes to lead her guests through the pleasantly cool rooms of her palazzo to the tower roof, from where the view reaches almost as far as Florence in the east and Pisa in the west.
