Chianti classico Gran Selezione Il Margone 2018 - Il Molino di Grace

About the wine

The winemaker from the Italian winery Il Molino di Grace has absolutely mastered his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this red wine, which originates in the flourishing and fertile Tuscan countryside. The outstanding Sangiovese 2005 — Chianti Classico Riserva Margone is the missing puzzle piece on your wine rack. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience if you offer this Sangiovese with pasta or beef.

Tasting note
“Sangiovese in Purezza” — pure, 100% Sangiovese. On the palate, there is the powerful structure of the wine, the rich, topping tannins, the juicy acidity paired with the intense taste of dried fruits, cranberries, oranges, figs and nuts. Herbs and spicy notes as well as a delicate floral scent complete the complex bouquet. A wine personality, not a flatterer, but a character head who doesn't relate to everyone and everyone.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The ideal drinking temperature for the red wine is a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The wine should be enjoyed during this period: 4-12 years after harvest. Flaschenpost team is recommended for pasta, pizza and lamb.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: Only the best Riserva grapes are used for this special and limited selection. The perfectly ripened grapes are harvested by hand at the beginning of October and once again strictly checked and sorted out in the winery. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in large temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at approx. 28ºC for 20 days. After biological acid degradation, the young wine is aged for 11 months in French double barriques and in traditional 500 liter Slavic oak botte. The ageing in wood should add complexity to the wine and not dominate it. After bottling, the wine is stored in the bottle for another year before it goes on sale.
