Tasting note
Galantas shows a ruby red purple color in the glass. On the nose, notes of graphite and dark berries such as blueberries and blackberries. The palate is supple, elegant, fresh and mineral. A wine that is able to show all the character of the Maipo Valley of the Andes.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpost team tip: Galantas goes well with curry, game and lamb. Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the red wine is slightly chilled 15°-17°C.
Vinification
Galantas is the maximum expression of Cabernet Franc in the Maipo Andres valley. A wine that is able to express the characteristic charisma, elegance and finesse of this unique terroir. The grapes come from Haras de Pirque's organic vineyards, which are located in the Maipo Valley in the Andes at over 700 meters above sea level. Here, the Cabernet Franc, supported by the cool nights, manages to exploit its full potential. The four vineyards of Cabernet Franc and Careménère are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks and French barrique barrels. The cold maceration before fermentation lasts 3-5 days and aims to bring out the full aromatic components of the grapes. After fermentation, which contains only spontaneous yeasts, the wine is bottled in French barriques, where it is stored for 14 months.
