About the wine
Black Estate is one of the top producers in the small region of Canterbury. The winery has a single-layer approach and wants to capture the expression of the character of each place in the bottle. The Pinot Noir was made from grapes from the Home vineyard, which faces north and has a clay-loam soil with calcium carbonate.

Tasting note
Intense, aromatic nose with clear, lively aromas of red cherries, rose petals and some black tea. Silky tannins on the palate, which harmonize perfectly with intense red cherries, red currants and a refreshing acidity. The outstanding balance gives a clear impression of the highly mineralized clay soil of the Home Vineyard.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with lamb, venison, game dishes with mushrooms and grilled fish.
Vinification
Aged for 12 months in old 228l oak barrels.
