The Rheingau is not only known for Riesling, but also for brilliant Pinot Noir. Even though Jens is an absolute Riesling ultra, a lot of Pinot Noir flows through his veins. You can taste the love for the grape variety straight out of his Pinot Noir. Cherries, red, ripe fruits, ethereal freshness (eucalyptus and lavender), herbs and a bit of dark chocolate blow out of the glass and make your mouth water. The first sip has a surprising amount of bums. Nevertheless, the whole thing remains alive due to the acid. Jens is rightly top red wine and a wine for which you should take a little more time.
