About the wine
With the dominant Pinot Noir 2009 — Mazon Riserva Blauburgunder DOC, you can offer your guests something very special. The winemaker from the Italian winery Hofstätter masteres this red wine with sensitivity and intuition in the picturesque and blooming landscape of Trentino. Flaschenpöstler tip: Pair this Pinot Noir with cheese or duck.
Tasting note
Deep ruby garnet red. The scent shows the typical notes of undergrowth, berries and sour cherries - ripe, sweet and seductive. On the tongue, it is warm, harmonious, round and multi-faceted. A great wine of international quality with an expressive body, which can develop its great potential even better after 1-2 years of bottle storage.
Culinary recommendation
An ideal accompaniment to red meats, lamb, poultry and game. Also highly recommended with mature cheeses.
Vinification
75% of the grapes are destemmed and 25% reach the fermentation tank intact. Fermentation lasts approximately 10 days, during which the must remains in constant contact with the grape skins. The Riserva is stored in small wooden barrels for one year, after assemblage, for a further six months in large wooden barrels and then in the bottle for another year.
