Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa DOC Douro 2018 - Quinta do Crasto

About the wine

Blooming and sunny landscapes of the Douro Valley give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Portuguese winery Quinta do Crasto conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. You will certainly have a lot of fun with the fine Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa DOC Douro, which was produced in 2015.

Tasting note
Deep ruby red color. On the nose, it impresses with its extraordinary freshness and complexity with fresh forest aromas, forest fruit notes and floral notes, while the palate offers an elegant start that develops into a wine of excellent volume and solid structure. The finely structured tannins are well integrated with beautiful retronasal notes, reminiscent of fresh aromas of gum cistus and forest fruits. The finish is balanced and persistent. This is a genuine wine with its own identity that reflects the purity and complexity of the Vinha Maria Teresa vineyard.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with game, Mediterranean cuisine, mushrooms
Vinification
The grapes were brought to the winery in 22 kg plastic crates. After strict selection on the sorting table, the grapes were completely destemmed and slightly crushed. Then transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After the fermentation was complete, the grapes were gently pressed using hydraulic presses. The wine matures for 20 months in new oak barrels (90% French oak; 10% American oak).
