Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore docg 2022 - Santa Cristina

About the wine

A must for connoisseurs, this provocative Merlot 2015 — Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore docg! Blooming and fertile Tuscan landscapes give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Santa Cristina conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. The Flaschenpöstler promise a culinary experience when you serve this Merlot with slightly spicy red meat or poultry.

Santa CristinaRed wine | 75cl13.516°-18°CThe fine variety of this wine is created by the harmonious combination of Merlot and Sangiovese.
Tasting note
Bright ruby red with purple reflections. The nose shows aromas of ripe, black fruits, in particular sour cherries, along with subtle, warm spicy and roasted notes, including some vanilla. Harmonious and complex on the palate. The juicy tannin structure, elegant acidity and wonderful aromas are wonderfully balanced. A wine with a long time and lots of drinking pleasure.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with a juicy hamburger.
Vinification
Both grape varieties are vinified separately. The Merlot mash is fermented for seven to eight days at a maximum of 25 °C in order to bring out the texture and fruitiness of the grape variety as much as possible. The Sangiovese mash is fermented a little longer and slightly warmer to achieve a more complex aroma spectrum. The young wine is aged for nine months in steel tanks and large oak barrels. The Chianti Superiore is then aged in the bottle for another two months before it is sold.
