Baselbieter Sauvignon blanc AOC 2023 - Siebe Dupf Kellerei

About the wine

The landscape in Basel is hilly, whose breathtaking expanses don't fit on a poster, but in a bottle. With a lot of feeling and experience, the winemaker from the Swiss winery Siebe Dupf Kellerei ensures that his craft inspires and convinces you. The provocative white wine 2018 — Baselbieter Sauvignon blanc AOC is the missing puzzle piece on your wine rack. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Sauvignon Blanc is excellent to serve with white meat or goat cheese.

Tasting note
Distinctive aromas of exotic fruits, gooseberries, peaches and light herbal notes inspire the nose. On the palate, it pleases with its full body, its finesse, its refreshing acid structure and its very fruity aromas. An exotic representative from our beautiful region.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal for aperitifs, asparagus, Asian cuisine, aromatic starters and fish dishes, sushi
Vinification
A specialty that we have only been vinifying in Siebe Dupf for a few years. The grapes come primarily from the Oberbasel municipalities of Sissach and Maisprach. The Sauvignon blanc grape finds ideal conditions there to develop its variety of aromas. Due to climate change over the last 25 years and the associated warm and dry autumn days, it is now possible to produce very appealing wines in the region with the Sauvignon grape as well. The grapes are destemmed immediately after the grapes have been accepted. The mash is then left to stand overnight at low temperatures (so-called mash heat). In this way, we achieve optimal extraction of aroma and flavor substances. Fermentation then takes place at 16°C and lasts around two months.
