About the wine

Our Castillo de Aresan winery is located in the municipality of Villarrobledo in the Castilla la Mancha region. We take particular care of our vineyards with a total of 11 different grape varieties and an area of 200 hectares. Since the 2018 vintage, we have been farming organically and our products are vegan. Aresan is a combination of the founders' surnames: Arena and Sanchez. Our vines are located on the La Meseta Plateau, up to 750 meters above sea level. There is a continental climate here with sharp fluctuations in temperature, which significantly increases the quality of the grapes. The 200-hectare winery has several types of soils: clayey and calcareous, clayey and silty, as well as clayey and sandy. The considerable altitude of this area means that our plants are naturally protected against diseases and there are fewer insects, which is extremely beneficial for organic vine management. All our wines are vegan products. Our main concern is environmental protection and the preservation of local fauna and flora. Opened in 2004, the wine cellar has an impressive underground expansion cellar with a capacity of 800 barriques. The walls are decorated with sculptures depicting Spanish culture and adding a traditional touch to the vault. Miguel Munoz de la Cruz is the descendant of a long line of winemakers and has a passion for wine Discovered at a very young age. He is a certified oenologist and can draw on many years of experience gained throughout Spain. In 2010, he made the decision to set up shop in Villarrobledo, at the Castillo de Aresan winery. With the conviction that successful winemaking must be carried out with respect for the raw material and the terroir, Miguel has decided to convert viticulture to organic farming and vegan products. All Aresan wines are therefore produced in an extremely environmentally friendly manner and while maintaining the biodiversity of the growing area. Miguel is now an ambassador for Aresan wines and does everything he can to constantly improve the quality, finesse and elegance of our Castillo de Aresan range.
