Tasting note
The history of Poysdorf viticulture began around 800 years ago on the steep southern slopes of Ried Hermannschachern; the warm, extremely calcareous loess soils are the basis for the authentic white-pepper, salty and fine mineral Grüner Veltliner. Fine Veltliner scent of ripe apples and tropical fruit, mineral-salty on the palate, juicy apple fruit again, strong, well-structured body, full-bodied and demanding, gently flatters the palate, crunchy fruit-acid play that lasts a long time.
Vinification
Elegance and excitement are paramount in this wine; the harvest usually takes place at a late harvest stage, although the grapes could mature far more. However, the focus should be on minerality and not on strength. After a short maceration period (12 hours), it is pressed and spontaneous fermentation is expected, filtered after 6 months of contact with fine yeast and stored in steel tanks until the end of May.
