About the wine
Sunny and fertile landscapes in Puglia give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Castello Monaci conjures up this white wine with refinement and sensitivity. Do you already know the provocative Muscat Moscatello Selvatico Passito IGT with the 2016 vintage? If not, it's time! Culinary tip from Flaschenpöstler: This Muscat is ideal for serving light dishes or tapas.
2023 to 2026
Tasting note
The intense, golden yellow color alone indicates a full-bodied sweet wine. On the nose, complex aromas of orange blossom unfold, in a harmonious balance with notes of apricot and peach. At the start, this moscato impresses with its density, which is immediately followed by a play of a wide variety of flavors: candied fruit, peach, caramel, quince and honey. The sweetness is balanced with a good acid structure so that this sweet wine stimulates the drinking flow and asks for more. A successful moscato with intense and complex aromas and a long finish!
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with foie gras, cantucci, cakes, fruit tarts and blue cheese.
Vinification
The carefully selected grapes are left to dry for 30 days and then pressed in steel tanks using the traditional process. Then aged for approx. 10 months in new 225 barrique oak barrels and then aged in the bottle for a further 3 months.
