Tasting note
The Grosse Gewächs Marienburg Fahrlay Terrassen is a rich and sumptuous dry Riesling with aromas of pear, melon and white peach. The interplay of delicate tannins and the creaminess of the ageing on the yeast gives it a lot of complexity. The aftertaste is long and strong with a distinct mineral note.
Vinification
Clemens Busch focuses on particularly gentle vinification. After selective manual harvesting, slow spontaneous fermentation begins. With the help of natural fine yeasts from the vineyard, the grapes ferment over a period of sometimes over ten months. The maturation takes place in the typical Fuder barrels of the Moselle, which are made of oak.
